Client Issue

Oberon Media, a client for which we have done a considerable amount of translation and localization work, realized they were having difficulties managing the translation/localization process internally. While management at Oberon understood on a topical level what needed to be done, there was no existing staff member with the intimate industry knowledge required to take ownership of managing this process. Oberon was faced with the challenge of quickly identifying an individual who possessed localization experience within the software industry. Having been satisfied with the existing business relationship with TransPerfect, TransPerfect Staffing Solutions was asked to identify and recruit an individual with the appropriate skill set and industry experience.

Solution

TransPerfect Staffing Solutions immediately scheduled a conference call with Oberon management so we could truly understand both their staffing need and corporate culture. At that point, a recruitment strategy was planned and implemented through which we began to source individuals with the appropriate skill set who could bring the much-needed project management relief to Oberon. Once the top individuals were identified, candidates were asked a series of behavioral-based interview questions formulated specifically for the Oberon position. Behavioral-based interviewing allowed us to further narrow the candidate field to those who most closely matched the core competencies identified as being integral to success within the Oberon organization. Through this process, one candidate became the clear leader of the candidate field. Following a rigorous client interview process and negotiations with the candidate (all managed by the TransPerfect Staffing team), the top candidate was on-board and functioning as the new Localization Manager within a two-week timeframe.
